A parts shop is essentially a shop that offers parts; these parts can be for many different types of product. Most commonly a parts shop will be associated with the motor trade and the shop will offer parts relating to cars and other vehicles. Parts shops are popular with garage owners that are fixing cars and they are also popular with people that are wanting to fix their car themselves. Shops that specialise in parts offer many different products that are compatible with many different products. A parts shop will usually have a large portfolio of different products that are usually purchased from manufacturers.
As previously mentioned, parts shops will usually offer products that are applicable to motor vehicles. These shops will offer a vast range of parts that relate to motor vehicles. In many cases the parts will be purchased by motor traders that are repairing cars. As well as this consumers often purchase parts in order to fix their own cars. Parts will generally be purchased due to a problem occurring with a car or due to them wishing to modify their own car. There are many consumers that choose to fix or modify their own cars and therefore parts shops are heavily popular.
In most cases consumers that are fixing their own car or modifying their own car will buy quite small parts. For example this may mean bulbs for car lights or break pads that can be fitted. By a car owner purchasing their own parts they will be able to get better deals than buying the parts directly from a manufacturer. In some cases people may fit the parts themselves or they may sanction someone else to fit these parts for them. The biggest benefit of buying parts from a parts shop is the discount that is received.
Car manufacturers may also purchase some parts directly from a cars part centre. Mechanics that fix cars will also buy their car parts directly from a relevant shop. In most cases car parts centres will offer a delivery service and will deliver car parts directly to the buyer. There are many independent car parts shops and there are also many that are part of car parts chains. In many cases there will be discounts for trade buyers.
